Remember when we thought life's most exciting chapters happened in our 20s and 30s?
Spoiler Alert: The best is actually just beginning!
I'm Lisa Schneider, founder of Pearl & Rose, and after spending 15+ years as a graphic designer branding luxury events, I decided it was time for my most exciting project yet—Rebranding Midlife.
At 54, with my two grown sons living their best lives in Los Angeles, my husband Brett and I (we’ve been married for 32 years) embraced our empty nest on the east coast, right outside of Washington, DC, and I discovered something unexpected: that this new chapter is a whole lot more fun than anyone let on!
Midlife isn't an ending—it's a fabulous new beginning!
My Journey to Midlife Wasn’t All Prosecco and Pedicures…
After battling breast cancer in my 40s (and winning, thank you very much!) and navigating six years of mysterious health issues that turned out to be—surprise!—menopause, I became passionate about health, wellness, and longevity. The frustrating part? I had to piece together most of this puzzle on my own.
That’s when it hit me: where were all the “old mom groups”? Twenty-Somethings, Girl Bosses and New Moms have countless communities for support and celebration, but what about us Fabulous Midlife Women?
After two years of dreaming and planning, in 2024, I finally took the leap and created the community I wished existed—Pearl & Rose!
We host thoughtfully curated in-person events connecting women in midlife with the best resources, information, products, and services to live our absolute best (mid)lives. From menopause-focused wellness workshops to sound baths and pickleball events to discussions about life in the sandwich generation—every event offers expert advice with a twist, creating genuine community while we laugh and learn together.
As an extroverted introvert who cherishes her lifelong friendships (yes, I'm still besties with my childhood girlfriends and college roommates!) while always excited to build new connections, I'm creating a space for midlife women like us to thrive.
Why Pearl and Rose?
I named this community after my two grandmothers, Pearl and Rose. Why? Because while I adored these amazing women, my midlife experience is NOTHING like theirs. Our generation is rewriting the midlife story with more adventure, more possibilities, and definitely more fun!
